How are our tutors better than other private tutors?
Our tutors are all highly academic. But 100Tutoring isn't just looking for high achievers - through our competitive interview process, tutors are selected based on their communication skills, as well as their experience and success doing private tutoring prior to joining 100Tutoring.
Why are the tutors university students or recent high school graduates?
University students and high school graduates are hired for several reasons: they are able to offer the latest advice about the evolving curriculum and assessments, they are able to offer one-on-one tutoring from a student's perspective, they can relate well with young students and make sessions unique and personalised, and they are able to offer more affordable rates for their tutoring services. All tutors have a valid Blue Card for working with children.
Why do tutors charge different rates?
We allow tutors to choose their own rates to create a competitive marketplace and to ensure different needs of clients and tutors are met. 100Tutoring doesn't take 30% or 50% of the hourly rate like some other companies—we think that is unfair for tutors!
How do I pay for tutoring sessions?
Payment invoices will be sent via email at the after every week a lesson is conducted. You won't be charged before a lesson but you have the option to if that suits you.
How do I contact my tutor?
When you are happy to enquire about a tutor's current availabilities for tutoring, you can submit a form. After that, the tutor will contact you via email or mobile number. After this, you can contact the tutor through any platform that is good for both you and the tutor.
How do I book in a tutoring session?
To make it simple for you, you can book tutoring lessons with the tutor directly. Send them a message and book in a time that works for you and the tutor. With sufficient notice to the tutor, you can also have make-up classes.
How long are the tutoring sessions?
The minimum suggested length is one hour but we can be as flexible as need be, as long as it's reasonable!
How often are the tutoring sessions?
We can cater for 1 lesson, 2 lessons or any number of tutoring sessions you need—just talk to the tutor to come to an agreement! Also, if you would like tutoring from multiple tutors, that's also an option, any time.
Can I change tutors?
If you and your tutor are not working very well, you're free to change tutors after the final session with your tutor. Just let us know by email and we can set you up with another tutor. We want you to have the best expereince learning from our tutors!
Can I cancel tutoring sessions?
We know that life gets in the way at times and you might have to cancel a lesson. In that case, let us know as soon as possible and we recommend rescheduling with your tutor! If you would like to cancel/reschedule a tutoring session, please let your tutor know as soon as possible. Tutors have their own schedules so it's good to respect it too!
