Hey there!
I'm Yong-Chien and I graduated in 2024. I am currently studying Engineering at the University of Queensland, after graduating as the dux of MacGregor State High School last year. Outside of academic study I enjoy spending time with family and staying fit with running and bike riding.
As a tutor, I help students improve step by step in a targeted and personalised manner. This means breaking down complex ideas into unique bite-sized chunks suited for each individual learner. Of course, this is not a straightforward process, but I do whatever I can by working with students and exploring different ways to get there! In parallel, I aim to make the learning journey as meaningful and enjoyable as possible :)
Some highlights of my academic achievements last year include the Academic Commendation Certificate (A's for six general subjects), Subject Commendation Award (Mathematical Methods) and full external results for Physics (50/50), Mathematical Methods (50/50) and Literature. Also, as an Academic Leader last year, I collaborated with teachers and students to improve my high school's learning framework, improving ways in which learning was delivered.
